Project Aims: To demonstrate the role of volunteering and bilateral partnerships for further development.
To develop eco-tourism and to raise awareness about environmental protection.
Project Tasks: Clean the river banks; plant trees; build garbage storages in the national park; organise workshops and campaigns to raise awareness for the local people about environmental protection and the ecology systems.
Volunteers also organise informal English classes for the young adults in the village to encourage them to communicate in English.
Who Can Participate?: Volunteers must also be able to communicate in English or Vietnamese. Volunteers must also be ready to live as local people (basic accommodation, transport by bus or bicycle, local food).
Placement Costs: US$220 per months (US$55 per week) for local food and accommodation in the international youth house.
Transportation: Volunteers are expected to travel with-in Hanoi on either local buses or by bicycle.
Hours of Activity: Volunteering hours are 4/5 hours 5-6 days a week to poor students at the center.
