FJI011 - Teaching crafts

Duration: 4 weeks +
Location: Lautoka.
Arrival Airport: Nadi International Airport.
Project Tasks: Teach women's handicrafts to enable single mothers, to support themselves while working from home.
Who Can Participate?: SIVP/IVP. Volunteers with craft skills; particularly quality leatherwork skills.
Placement Costs: AU$75 per week for food and accommodation with a local family
Accommodation: Female volunteers stay with female teachers at the school and enjoy it immensely. Male volunteers stay in the village.
Hours of Activity: Providing half an hour individual reading each day.
Visa Requirements: It is the responsibility of all participants to obtain any necessary visas.
Required Items: Warm clothes for evenings, sleeping bag, hat, sunscreen, towel, mosquito repellent and basic toiletries.

IVP = Placements for individual volunteers with no special experience or training.
SIVP = Placements for volunteers with related experience, expertise or proven interest
