RUPZI03 - Juicy District 2

Location: Voronezh situated in the very centre of the European part of Russia,
About the Project: The idea consist of bringing together people from an urban district – district of block houses, - through volunteer activities: repairing benches, yard stage for musical performances, open air cinema etc.
The activities will take part in a yard between several houses. In 1 house of 12 levels live about 700 inhabitants. This project will be seen by audience of more than 3000 people.
In the middle of the stone jungle this workcamp provides you the unique possibility of learning all day life of Russian city inhabitants: their needs, interests, habits, fears and joys.
The camp is for those, who are not afraid of direct contact with people, who can imaginatively answer thousands of “where are you from” and “why are you here”.
Terminal: Moscow or Voronezh.
Work: - Participate in the campaign of bringing people of the neighborhood together, to promote volunteerism
- To involve local people into cleaning, repairing, making beautiful the district of their own: as an example can be to work out leaflets about volunteerism and to spread them in the district, to put posters, to make a small presentation about forms of active citizenship of youth in your countries, different street actions in costumes.
- Computers are available in Passage-Zebra office, as well as Internet.
Accommodation & Food: In a student hostel of the State Academy of Arts. Room for 4 persons. Shower, toilet, kitchen are available, will be shared with other students living in the hostel in the same time with the international group of volunteers.
Free Time: Possibilities include sightseeing, cinemas, theatres, museums, discos, international cultural events, friendly evenings with locals. Excursions to the local natural preserve “Divnogorye” (curative spring and ancient churches hollowed out in chalky hills - be ready to spend 1 weekend in tents!) or to a big monastic complex in the town of Zadonsk and some of the cities of the region (Lipetsk, Yelets).

Required Items: Volunteers aged 18 – 26 years old but exceptions for older volunteers are possible. Russian language, Motivation letter in Russian.

Notes: Letter of motivation in Russian. Since an invitation letter is connected with some additional expenses we are obliged to ask a contribution of 20 Euro from each volunteer upon extra fees mentioned in the description. It covers the insurance for the whole term, invitation state fees, sending the official letter of invitation to the volunteer via usual mail.
