Location: Ivano-Frankivsk/Petryliv.
About the Project: One of the main functions is prevention work in the sphere of HIV, but they also support a lot of local minorities in the manner, that they provide them with the opportunity for self-help groups, meeting points and education. The most increasing cases of HIV in Ukraine are registered among intravenous drug-users. The needle exchange programme is working, but furthermore it is necessary to support these people, who want to get clean (free of drugs). That is why, Solidarity started to built a rehabilitation center in Petryliv (near the city of Ivano-Frankivsk), where people in the future can go after detoxification programme for getting mentally free of drugs.
Terminal: Lviv International Airport.
Work: Volunteers will be to help by renovation inside of the rehabilitation center and create an atmosphere of trust for the patients. Volunteers will be also cleaning the waste and dirt and create a garden with flowers and vegetables. At the beginning, volunteers will provided with information about prevention actions among drug user and training them about HIV/AIDS. For this every volunteer should bring a small presentation on the situation about HIV and AIDS in their countries.
Accommodation & Food: The group will be hosted in Petryliv, where they can make a tent camp next to the rehabilitation center or inside of it. Volunteers will cook themselves. Kitchen and facilities are provided, but no washing machines are available, so bring enough clothes for two weeks, or be prepared to wash by hand.
Free Time: The city of Ivano Frankivsk is located in Western-Ukraine and close to the Carpathian Mountains and the famous city of Lviv. It will be possible to arrange the trip to the national nature park of the Carpathian Mountains. The city Ivano-Frankivsk also offers a lot of possibilities to spend free time, there are restaurants, cafes, shops, discos and parks. In Petryliv, you can enjoy the nature, have a work in the willow tree wood or take a bath in the Dnistr (a big river).

Required Items: Sleeping bags, strong shoes, swimsuit, music, working clothes, flash light, mosquito repellents, indoor and outdoor games.
