SMI007 - Art Centre

Duration: 2 weeks +
Location: Apia.
Arrival Airport: Faleolo International Airport.
Project Tasks: - Assist teachers with art classes; pottery, woodwork, print making and paper making.
- Help train local employees and apprentices with skills.
Who Can Participate?: IVP/SIVP. Volunteers having a background in arts, crafts or fine arts is necessary. All volunteers wanting to participate in this placement are required to submit a police report which clears them for participation in activities with minors.
Placement Costs: Food and accommodation provided for a contribution of approximately AUD$70 per week.
Accommodation: Living with a Host family.
Visa Requirements: It is the responsibility of all participants to obtain any necessary visas.
Required Items: Warm clothes for evenings, sleeping bag, hat, sunscreen, towel, mosquito repellent and basic toiletries.
Note: A fully equipped art studio is available, and volunteers are welcome to have an exhibition during their stay.
