Duration: Min 2 weeks, Max. 3 months.
Location: Johannesburg.
Arrival Airport: Johannesburg International Airport.
Project Tasks: - A range from collecting and distributing food to the needy;
- Informally teaching the children English, arts, sports within the local school;
- teach in a township kindergarten.
- Assisting with informal training such as after school computer literacy programs, music classes, art classes and arts.
- Crafts training, making and selling with women in the community.
- Volunteers will also have the opportunity to assist with the organisational development.
Who Can Participate?: IVP/SIVP enthusiastic volunteers.
Placement Costs: Food and accommodation provided outside of the township in a safe area for 280 Rand (approx. AU$60 per week) with the director of the organisation and her teenage daughter.
Transportation: Volunteers must pay for their own transportation most days.
Visa Requirements: It is the responsibility of all participants to obtain any necessary visas.
Note: All volunteers wanting to participate in this placement are required to submit a police report which clears them for participation in activities with minors.

IVP = Placements for individual volunteers with no special experience or training.
SIVP = Placements for volunteers with related experience, expertise or proven interest
