ECI004 - Soil Erosion Control Research and Education
Duration: Long-term commitment of 6 months or + is desirable but not compulsory.
Project Aims: At present, a growing awareness of erosion problems and their solution has lead to many requests for information and demonstration of the VGS.
Project Tasks: Help is required to organise workshops, field demonstrations, and to write reports. After a short training period with VGS, volunteers will be involved in office or field work such as: planting of vetiver grass for reproduction, explaining VGS to farmers, following up existing projects (incl. report writing), contribute to writing the VGS manual for small farmers.
Who Can Participate?: Preference given to those with Agriculture, Environmental, Agroforestry, Horticultural backgrounds. Project and reporting skills highly valued.

Accommodation: Provided by host
Visa Requirements: It is the responsibility of all participants to obtain any necessary visas.
Required Items: Warm clothes for evenings, sleeping bag, hat, sunscreen, towel, mosquito repellent and basic toiletries.
Language: Volunteers must be able to express themselves in Spanish.
