BOI002 - Children and People with Disabiliities

Location: Santa Cruz or Cochabamba
Background Information: This is a special school that gives support to more than 120 children and adults with blindness problems from 0 years old they also have a clinic for blind people with limited resources. They give orientation to parents and professionals of different areas about how to integrate these people to the community.
Project Aims: To work as class and workshop assistants with special pupils.
Project Tasks: Volunteers can help as class room assistants in the subjects of maths, English, sciences, history, sport, music, dance. In the workshops volunteers can help with cooking, ceramics, gardening, and computers. Volunteers can also assist with office work.
Who Can Participate?: Occupational health professionals very welcome. Volunteers can also assist with office work.
Placement Costs: US$135 per week for all food, accommodation, laundry, airport/bus station transfers and orientation.
Hours of Activity: You will be volunteering about 5 hours a day, Monday to Friday.
Visa Requirements: It is the responsibility of all participants to obtain any necessary visas.
Language: Basic Spanish is an advantage
