Background Information: The organisation is a civil society association, democratic and constituted for children
and young people. They undertake actions with other institutions to improve the quality of life for young people in this city.
Arrival Airport: Buenos Aires
Project Aims: The organisation assists with many areas of the young persons community - with environmental education; education; community development; drama, singing and music work-shops; special needs teenagers and more.
Project Tasks: Volunteers will assist with the following and more:
- Assisting with environmental programs such as tree planting, non-littering education and environmental health programs.
- Assist with a 'moving theatre' production and travel with the young people and assist with shows in the different parts of the city
- Work with underprivillaged children in a communty drop-in centre in the afternoons.
- Assist with special needs teenagers
- Art, singing, dancing, languages and music can all be taught if the volunteer has skills in these areas.
Who Can Participate?: IVP. Anyone with an interest children and teenagers. Volunteers must be able to make connections with children, young people and be willing to work with people from under-privillaged back-grounds.
Artistic talents are greatly valued, but not necessary.
Volunteers will need to have a basic knowledge of Spanish, or be willing to take Spanish lessons in Buenos Aires on arrival.
Placement Costs: 150 Euros per month for food and accommodation, and a 150 Euros admin fee to the host organisation to be paid on arrival
Accommodation: Accommodation and Meals are provided with a local family. Volunteers will either have their own room and private bathroom, or have to share with one other international volunteer.
Hours of Activity: The volunteer will work 5/6 hours per day from Monday to Friday and at times will need to
participate in group activities on weekends.
Visa Requirements: It is the volunteers responsibility to arrange their own visas, but IVI can assist with information.
