ARI005 Farm-house for Children in Need

Duration: 6 weeks +
Location: Greater Buenos Aires, 1 hour and a half from Buenos Aires City.
Arrival Airport: Buenos Aires Airport
Project Aims: Protect children under risk who have been separated from their families, so that these kids can learn through love the value of work, freedom, ethics, morality, and mutual respect.
Project Tasks: Look after the children, for example, accompany them in their everyday activities, help them with their homework, recreation, etc. Assist the staff in the cleaning of the houses where the children live: cleaning the floors, windows, toilets, kitchen, dining-room, bedrooms. Help with the laundry. Help in the main kitchen where all the meals are prepared: wash and cut vegetables, meat, pastas, dishwashing carpentry work: paint, repair beds, closets, tables, chairs Farm work: (mow the lawn, water the trees, clean the leaves), cultivation area (watering and cleaning, planting and harvesting) look after the animals (pigs, ducks, etc.) (feeding them, cleaning them, cleaning the yards)
Who Can Participate?: Be keen to work with children, teenagers and young people, like working, be responsible, have respect for the others, be creative. Good for long term pair volunteering, you will be required to participate, at least, for eight weeks.
Placement Costs: Food and accommodation provided for free.
Meals: Food is provided and shared with the children.
Accommodation: Volunteers live at the farm with the children and the other staff.
Visa Requirements: It is the responsibility of all participants to obtain any necessary visas.
Required Items: All volunteers going to Argentina must be willing to take Spanish lessons on arrival if no prior Spanish is known. Volunteers must also be able to obtain a current police clearance.

IVP = Placements for individual volunteers with no special experience or training.
SIVP = Placements for volunteers with related experience, expertise or proven interest
