THI003 - Organic Farming in NE Thailand

Duration: Minimum - three months; maximum - six months.
Location: North eastern Thailand.
Background Information: Orphaned children also live on the property and you will have the opportunity to spend time with them.
Arrival Airport: Suvarnabhumi, Bangkok
Project Aims: Assist in the producing of organic foods for the orphanage.
Project Tasks: - Planting
- Collecting straw
- Mulching
- Making tree nursery pots
- Making soap
- Building maintenance, etc.
Who Can Participate?: All volunteers wanting to participate in this placement are required to submit a police report which clears them for participation in activities with minors.
Placement Costs: Volunteers must contribute 70 Baht (about AUD$3.30) per day towards food and accommodation costs.
Visa Requirements: It is the responsibility of all participants to obtain any necessary visas. IVI can assist your with visa applications for Thailand.
Required Items: Warm clothes for evenings, sleeping bag, hat, sunscreen, towel, mosquito repellent and basic toiletries.
Note: Placement not available during monsoon season (June - August).
