NPI002 - Orphanage in Kathmandu

Duration: 6 weeks +
Location: Kathmandu.
Arrival Airport: Tribhuvan International Airport of Nepal.
Project Tasks: - Volunteers will be assisting the staff in the running of the orphanage and the orphans with their Homework in the evenings.
Help with sport and recreation.
Who Can Participate?: IVP/SIVP. Anyone with an interest in assisting disadvantaged children is welcome.
Nurses and teachers are especially welcome but interested, enthusiastic and experienced volunteers will surely help to make the 'home life' for these children to be as special as it should be. Non English volunteers welcome to help the Children to understand others who use English as their 2nd language.
Placement Costs: Living-in US$195 for 6 weeks to help cover food and accommodation costs US$33 per week or outside accommodation etc is available and estimated to cost about US$390 for 6 weeks. (US$65 per week)
Meals: Local meals are provided.
Accommodation: Volunteers will either being living at the orphanage with the children or in the directors home.
Hours of Activity: 5 days a week.
Visa Requirements: It is the responsibility of all participants to obtain any necessary visas.
Required Items: Through Email, volunteers will be able to see if they might be able to take something that is needed to help develop this special facility for these disadvantaged children of Nepal and Kathmandu.
Note: Volunteers welcome all year round. Volunteers can participate in this placement 2-3 months preferred.
