Duration: 4 - 12 weeks
Location: Sabah
Arrival Airport: Kuala Lumpur International Airport
Project Tasks: Spoken English to children (mainly primary school ages) and adults.
Who Can Participate?: IVP/SIVP.
Meals: Contribute MYR50 per week, about AU$25 per week towards food costs.
Accommodation: Live with a family. Help with day-to-day chores. There is electricity and telephones, but no running water.
May be placed in different villages in the same district during your stay.
Transportation: Fly to Kota Kinabalu. Fly or catch a bus to Sandakan.
Visa Requirements: It is the responsibility of all participants to obtain any necessary visas.
Note: A great opportunity to experience rural life in an underdeveloped area of Borneo. Life in Sabah is very different to that of the West; you are strongly advised to read a guide book before travelling to Sabah.
