INI021 - Special Needs Education

Duration: Minimum 2 weeks, Maximum 16 weeks.
Location: Chennai.
Arrival Airport: Chennai International Airport.
Project Aims: To improve the quality of life of people with special needs through education and vocational training.
Project Tasks: Teaching general educational subjects, art & craft etc; organising and assisting outings for the children; helping with awareness programs in the local community (e.g. making short films); helping with PR and fundraising for the centre.
Who Can Participate?: IVP, SIVP
Meals: Food needs to be purchased outside of the centre and roughly this should cost Rs. 500 per week (AU$15) at local restaurants.
Accommodation: Provided at the centre. Accommodation can be arranged outside the centre if the volunteer prefers (at the volunteers own expense).
Visa Requirements: It is the responsibility of all participants to obtain any necessary visas.
