Duration: Min. 2 weeks, max. 52 weeks.
Location: Near Jinja.
Arrival Airport: Entebbe International Airport.
Project Tasks: - Assisting orphans with educational and social support.
- Helping poor children from rural families to attend and stay in school.
- Initiating HIV/AIDS support projects and assisting with organisational development.
Who Can Participate?: IVP/SIVP. Unskilled volunteers welcome.
Placement Costs: Food and accommodation provided for US$50 per week.
Meals: Local food is provided such as rice, matoke (mashed cooked green bananas), posho, meat, vegetables, fruit. There is a supermarket in the village where you are able to buy extra food supplies.
Accommodation: Volunteers can either stay in the local village with running water and electricity or they can choose to stay at the orphanage part of the school in a private volunteer cottage (no running water or electricity) outside of the village.
Visa Requirements: It is the responsibility of all participants to obtain any necessary visas.
Required Items: Warm clothes for evenings, sleeping bag, hat, sunscreen, towel, mosquito repellent and basic toiletries.
Language: English/Luganda

IVP = Placements for individual volunteers with no special experience or training.
SIVP = Placements for volunteers with related experience, expertise or proven interest
