ZAI005 - Nature Reserve (Mountainous Catchment area Maintenance)

Project Aims: The aims and activities of the organisation are Mountain Catchment and wilderness management.
Project Tasks: Volunteers are needed to assist with Ecological data collection; Invasive alien plant species management; Footpath maintenance and much more
Who Can Participate?: Volunteers need to have an interest in conservation management and it is desired (but not necessary) that volunteers have a knowledge of Leave No Trace and Fire Management practises.
Optional Activities: Weekends are free to visit nearby areas of interest and to allow volunteers to make the most of their time in this beautiful country. Areas of interest can include Gaansbai (whale, shark and penguin watching), Cape Town, Knysna, Plettenberg Bay and other towns along the Garden Route.
Placement Costs: Volunteers must pay an administrative fee of 700 Rand, and purchase their own food.
Meals: Volunteers will purchase their own food and prepare their own meals. cooking facilities are provided. Volunteers will be driven into town a couple of times a week to run errands and purchase food.
Accommodation: Accommodation will be provided in a fully contained flatlet of the host families house for a contribution of 200 Rand per week.
Hours of Activity: Monday to Friday - 9am to 5pm.
