Background Information: Volunteers will be working at a rural health clinic with health care attendants including HIV/AIDS advisors. The clinic was established by the community with the support of the Roman Catholic Church. It remains the only health facility in the community, which is farming area.
Project Tasks: Volunteers will assist in all activities and tasks in the medical clinic. Dental and eye care services may also be provided.
Who Can Participate?: All volunteers who are trained as medical or public health professionals. Medical Students are also invited to assist.
Placement Costs: Volunteers are to contribute US$50 per week to cover food and accommodation with a local host family. This also includes an airport pick-up from Accra.
Transportation: Volunteers should budget approximately US$4 per day for transport costs
