CMI007 - Teaching Computers in local schools

Duration: Min. 2 weeks, max. 52 weeks.
Location: Douala and Bameda.
Arrival Airport: Douala International Airport.
Project Aims: Assist with an organisation that aims to provide education, vocational training, and gender equality to the local communities.
Project Tasks: Assist with educational classes, especially computers and IT lessons, but also general subjects (such as Maths, English, physical education) to children in both secondary and high schools.
Who Can Participate?: IVP/SIVP. All volunteers wanting to participate in this placement are required to submit a police report which clears them for participation in activities with minors.
Placement Costs: Accommodation and food provided with a host family for a contribution of US$30 per week
Visa Requirements: It is the responsibility of all participants to obtain any necessary visas.
Required Items: Warm clothes for evenings, sleeping bag, hat, sunscreen, towel, mosquito repellent and basic toiletries.
Note: Volunteers are able to stay on their own in accommodation at their own expense.
