KEI024 - Teaching at a Nursery School

Duration: Min. 2 weeks max. 12 weeks.
Location: Nairobi.
Arrival Airport: Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
Project Aims: To give children a head start on primary school education.
Project Tasks: Teach basic classes in English, reading and writing, basic manners, songs, drama, art and physical education.
Who Can Participate?: IVP/SIVP. Volunteers must have an interest in children.
All volunteers wanting to participate in this placement are required to submit a police report which clears them for participation in activities with minors.
Placement Costs: Food and accommodation provided with a host family for 4900 Kenyan Shillings per week (approximately US$70 per week).

Accommodation: Volunteers will either stay at the nursery school or live with a Kenyan Host Family.
Required Items: Warm clothes for evenings, sleeping bag, hat, sunscreen, towel, mosquito repellent and basic toiletries.
