NZI034 - Conservation

Duration: 4 weeks +
Location: On the mainland of New Zealand and various islands off the coast.
Project Tasks: Assist with Track making, pest control, hut and general maintenance in national parks.
Volunteers can also assist with the development of an environmental adventure company which will assist with the protection of the environment and allow visitors to participate in these activities eg. habitat restoration, nursery development threatened species survey, etc.
Who Can Participate?: IVP
Meals: You must provide your own food. We estimate this to cost NZ$50 per week
Accommodation: In fully contained huts provided by the organisation.
Visa Requirements: It is the responsibility of all participants to obtain any necessary visas.
Required Items: Warm clothes for evenings, sleeping bag, hat, sunscreen, towel, mosquito repellent and basic toiletries.

IVP = Placements for individual volunteers with no special experience or training.
SIVP = Placements for volunteers with related experience, expertise or proven interest
