FJI009 - Assist slow readers

Duration: 4 weeks +
Dates: School Term dates - Term 1: 23rd Jan. to 27th April, Term 2: 14th May to 17th August, Term 3: 3rd Sept to 30th November.
Arrival Airport: Nadi International Airport.
Project Tasks: Providing individual reading each day to selected students during the volunteer's placement.
Who Can Participate?: IVP. Volunteers must have an interest in teaching and education.
All volunteers wanting to participate in this placement are required to submit a police report which clears them for participation in activities with minors.
Placement Costs: AU$75 per week for food and accommodation with a local family
Accommodation: Female volunteers stay with female teachers at the school and enjoy it immensely. Male volunteers stay in the village.
Hours of Activity: Providing half an hour individual reading each day.
Visa Requirements: It is the responsibility of all participants to obtain any necessary visas.
Required Items: Warm clothes for evenings, sleeping bag, hat, sunscreen, towel, mosquito repellent and basic toiletries.
Note:
