AUI013 - Animal research and revegetation

Duration: 2 weeks +
Location: Southern Victoria
Background Information: Related to large Penguin rookery and the vegetation of their nesting area.
Project Tasks: Volunteers will assist the Park Rangers to complete the following projects and more: Weed control, Revegetation, Habitat rehabilitation, Vermin control, Hooded Plover Watch, Shearwater Protection, Koala Conservation Centre, Churchill Island protection, Penguin protection.
Who Can Participate?: IVP/SIVP. For students, Graduates and volunteers with proven interests.
Placement Costs: AUD$ 35 per week covers accommodation costs. Volunteers are expected to purchase their own food, and can estimate AU$50 per week to eat well.
Accommodation: Accommodation is provided in a newly built volunteer house. The house is fully self-contained with bedrooms, kitchen, bathrooms and living area.
Visa Requirements: It is the responsibility of all participants to obtain any necessary visas.
Required Items: Warm clothes for evenings, sleeping bag, hat, sunscreen, towel, mosquito repellent and basic toiletries.

IVP = Placements for individual volunteers with no special experience or training.
SIVP = Placements for volunteers with related experience, expertise or proven interest
