SOUTH AFRICA

Geography: Southern Africa, at the southern tip of the continent of Africa.

Climate: Mostly semiarid; subtropical along east coast; sunny days, cool nights.

Language: There are eleven official languages in South Africa, which are representative of the main cultural groupings in the country. In the Western Cape, Eastern Cape and KwaZulu Natal, for instance, one would find people speaking mostly English, Afrikaans, isiXhosa and isiZulu.

Currency: The Rand, R1 = 100 cents.
